ABOUT the BASH

The Bull City BBQ Bash was born out of a desire to bring a premier barbecue event to East Durham, NC.

Mike De Los Santos, owner of the award-winning Mike D's BBQ and Mike D's BBQ Supply & General Store, has been participating in BBQ competitions since 2009, with his own line of BBQ rubs and sauces.  He opened his BBQ supply and general store after appearing on and (spoiler alert!) winning the docu-series I Quit on the Discovery Channel.

He has a huge love of community, of barbecue competitions, for supporting small business and non-profit organizations.

In 2021, Mike combined these passions and launched the inaugural BASH to great success!

 

At the 2022 Bull City BBQ Bash, there’s something for everyone:

the opportunity to interact with BBQ competitors, to taste and vote on delicious food while supporting Helps Education Fund, live music, a small business marketplace, even MORE food and most of all - an amazing atmosphere.
